"Hello" mosaic!

 Ecco un bel mosaico per accogliere col sorriso le persone :-) 

 

Ultimamente ho seguito un corso di Domestika molto interessante di mosaico fatto dall'artista Briony Machin:

"Modern Mosaic Art: Make Floral Compositions with Tiles"

...bello, stimolante e semplice da capire e rifare.

Così mi sono cimentata nel mosaico... ho preso tutti i materiali:

- le tesserine (non è facile capire quali prendere visto anche l'elevato costo che hanno)

- la pinza da mosaico per tagliarle

- la base su cui incollare le tessere

- colla e pennello

- malta per piastrelle

...e il disegno del progetto finale.

 

 Le istruzioni sono semplici, basta seguire il disegno ritagliando le tessere della forma voluta e incollarle man mano. A disegno completato basta passare una mano di malta, attende qualche minuto e poi togliere la malta in eccesso...e finito! Detta così sembra fin troppo facile ma seguendo le istruzioni del corso sono riuscita a completare il lavoro in modo semplice e abbastanza veloce (in tutto una settimana di lavoro, ritagliandomi ogni giorno un po' di tempo).

"Embroidery painting" ...quando ricamo e pittura si incontrano!

Ho da poco fatto un corso online di Domestika: "Embroidery and fabric painting" di Polina Oshu per sperimentare nuove tecniche di ricamo...ecco il risultato!

Occorrente: materiali per cucito (fili, forbici, cerchio da ricamo, tessuto, pennarello idrosolubile per tessuti) e pennarelli acrilici. E ovviamente un bel disegno da dipingere e ricamare!

Come si fa:

1. Prepara lo schizzo   
2. scegli i colori  
3. trasferisci il disegno sul tessuto con il pennarello idrosolubile  
4. inizia a dipingere le forme con i pennarelli indelebili (è molto semplice e veloce)
5. infine ricama delle linee, puntini, stelle con molti colori per dargli sfumature

 Ed ecco il lavoro finito...
 

FINGER PUPPET SET: Ice Animals!

To explain the ice environment at school and tell who lives at the south pole and the north pole, 

I made these nice finger puppets using felt :-)

       HOW TO MAKE FINGER PUPPETS:

1. first I cut out the various pieces of the animals from the paper
2. then I put them on the felt and drew the outline with a fine tip permanent marker
3. I cut out the various pieces of different colors (the colors of the animals are indicated in the circle next to the shape)
   
4. and I sewed them together with thread (I used the "running stitch": just tie a knot at one end of the thread and start threading it into the edge of the fabric, passing first on the back then on the front...it's easy!)
   

         ... if you don't have a needle and thread you can use hot glue or a stapler, but with thread it's much more resistant and childproof!!

 

 And then where do we put the finger puppets?...easy, in the igloo! 

To build the igloo I used a white fabric and a small piece of blue fabric, for the padding of the semi-rigid plastic (such as packaging) and to sew the blue thread.  

      HOW TO MAKE IGLOO:

1. I cut two ovals out of the white fabric and sewed them together on the reverse side with thread (always remember to leave a seamless space to be able to turn the fabric over and insert the padding), and then I turned the fabric over. 
2.  I cut out a slightly smaller oval from the semi-rigid plastic and then cut it in half. Then I inserted the two plastics inside the oval. 
3. I placed the blue fabric along the middle of the oval and I made a seam right in the middle, so that the plastics stay in place and you can easily fold the oval in half.  I finished sewing the oval piece where I turned the fabric, then I sewed the two outer edges of the blue fabric, so as to create two narrow and long "bags" .
   
4.  To close the igloo: I sewed a small piece of white fabric on one side of the oval and on this I sewed a piece of Velcro, the other piece of Velcro I sewed directly onto the other end of the oval.
5.  Finally I hand-stitched the blocks of ice on the outside of the igloo with the blue thread, always with the running stitch. And I sewed a little black door to make the igloo even more beautiful.

Il gioco della balena

Dopo aver letto il libro PICCOLA BALENA di Jo Weaves, ho creato un gioco per bambini ispirato al lungo viaggio della balena descritto nel libro:

Sul blog LIBRI SPAZIALI si trova la recensione del libro, le foto e tante attività sulle balene.

Il percorso delle balene: un semplice gioco con i dadi che riprende la storia di "Piccola balena". 

 

Occorrente per il gioco.

Per giocare basta stampare il file del percorso e colorarlo, oppure stampare il file già colorato:

Come pedine, costruite delle piccole balene con gli origami, una per ogni partecipante al gioco. Scegliete dei piccoli fogli (io ho usato dei "fogli per origami" di 10x10cm) e un colore per ciascuno, così sarà facile riconoscere la propria pedina sul percorso.

Qui trovate il video delle istruzioni "passo a passo" per fare la balena origami.

Poi potete anche sistemare le balene su un tappo di sughero per muoverle più facilmente (basterà fare un piccolo taglio sul sugero e incastrale all'interno).

Procurarvi un dado e... cominciate a giocare!

 

 Le regole del gioco sono semplici: 

• si parte dal mare caldo
• ogni giocatore tira il dado e avanza di tante caselle quante sono indicate sul dado
• se la casella ha una scritta occorre leggerla e seguire le istruzioni
• ... attenti alla nave baleniera e all'orca!!
• vince chi arriva al freddo mare del nord
  

 Buon divertimento!!
